Over 20 years and 95 starts, this past weekend, Matty-O finally took down his first Elite Series win. Forever a bride’s maid on the Pro Tour, Leicester was a monkey-off-his-back moment.
Talent is one thing, though …
The dude’s cartoon-character vibe is yet another.
What grown man rocks a puka-shell choker necklace at every available opportunity without having lost a bet? Who insists on sporting the flimsiest of sunglasses, only for them to fall off his face after every throw? Bleached-blond hair, a mega-unhealthy obsession with Nick Saban and a southern drawl drawl thick enough to whitewash an entire fence – guess who owns ALL of it?

Given the above, it’s understandable why fans would follow Orum to the ends of the earth. It’s easy to see why they’d want to rep his gear, too. More specifically, the discs he bags.
To make it happen, the obvious option is to fine-tune your search for “Tour Series” discs on your preferred retailer’s site. Most online disc outlets have a page dedicated entirely to Tour and Signature Series discs, including Orum’s. The search search bar can help with this, too.
Yawn.
Next, if you’re head-over-heels for the guy, consider yourself lucky he’s sponsored by Westside Discs, a proud Trilogy brand. In my experience, the Dynamic Discs website is one of the few that effectively features the gear of its Team Trilogy athletes – the more household ones, at least.
They’re known as “collection” pages. Their most prized golfers have them: Kona Panis, Zach Melton, Ricky Wysocki, Chris Clemons, etc. A part of Team Westside Discs, this includes Orum.

Hands-down, however, the TOP place to acquire one-of-a-kind, Orum-inspired discs is the Team Idlewild website. Team Idlewild is similar to Shop Ledgestone in that a portion of all disc sales go to the players whose names help move frisbees. Furthermore, incoming funds also help improve the associated tournament. Ledgestone does Discraft; Idlewild does Trilogy.
Designs are unique to the Team Idlewild site and rotated in and out of circulation to keep inventory fresh for buyers. Matty-O’s “first down” Lucid-Ice Glimmer Suspect is unreal – an out-of-production mold, in case you’ve forgotten. There’s a Tournament-X Maiden featuring a fleur de leaf, as well. Ninety-nine percent of Pro Tour winners don’t deserve this kind of post.
