If you throw Innova, this blog post is going to save you a lot of money …
Pay attention.
Infinite Discs is a disc golf retailer. As such, they have unique partnerships with a number of disc manufacturers. They push others’ plastic, but they also sell their own line of discs. Primarily a retailer, Infinite doesn’t have their own injection-molding machines – Innova does, though.
The next time you handle an Infinite disc, flip it over: You’ll see “Innova Champion Discs” embossed along the underside of it. In addition to manufacturing Infinite’s plastic, Innova’s also granted them rights to repurpose three classic, yet “expired” disc molds as their own …
These aren’t trash molds, either.
They’re high-dollar ones – like, the molds guys were throwing 20 years ago back in Ken Climo’s heyday. In 2022, you can still take to eBay or Facebook and get ‘em, but you’ll probably have to offer up your firstborn to make it happen. Thankfully, there’s a more affordable way to do it …
Just buy the Infinite Discs equivalent:
- It’s literally the exact same mold.
- You can buy it for a fraction of the cost.
- The only difference is the stamp and branding.
That’s it.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. The Innova Eagle-L is the Infinite Discs Exodus
You’ve seen Calvin Heimburg throw a Champion Eagle 400-plus feet on a rope, right?
Watch him work: In the woods, he uses this fairway driver off the tee on nearly every hole.
He’s throwing an Eagle-X – it’s an overstable Eagle. It’s more capable of handling the kind of power Calvin can put into it. He’s also been throwing ‘em for years – they’re plenty beat. So when you see his Eagles flip to flat and turn after a hyzer release, there’s a reason for it …
If you want your Eagle to do the same thing, don’t buy an Eagle-X.
What you’re needing is an Eagle-L – it’s the less-stable version of the disc …
It’s also out of production (OOP), unfortunately.
Relax: The Infinite Discs Exodus IS the Eagle-L.
New, it’ll still dump heavily at the end of its flight. Give it some time: It won’t be long until its flight starts to mimic that of Heimburg’s Eagles. Half of getting better at disc golf is having the correct disc for the right shot. The Exodus is ideal for carving tight, accurate lines in the woods.
- Type: It’s a fairway driver.
- Stability: It’s mildly overstable.
- Primary Use: It’s good for narrow lines.

2. The Innova Coyote is the Infinite Discs Anubis
The Coyote is an easy-to-throw midrange with good glide. Thrown properly, it’ll fly straight as an arrow. Due to its neutral flight, it’ll do what you tell it to do: hyzer, straight or anhyzer.
While a member of Team Innova, Mason Ford threw the Coyote all over the place. It’s rare to find an “Innova guy” who’s not bagging three-plus KC Pro Rocs in different stages of wear, but it did the trick for him. To date, the dude’s known for his form and finesse with golf frisbees.
If you’d like to do something similar with your game, but have found that most midranges feel bulky or awkward in your hand, there’s a good chance the Coyote is what you’re needing.
Here’s the problem, though: Right now, if you go to eBay or Facebook, you’ll find new Star and Champion Coyotes for well over $50. Heck, even used Coyotes sell for around the $30 mark …
Same song, different chorus: The Infinite Discs Anubis IS the Coyote.
Don’t be a sucker – shop smart.
- Type: It’s a midrange.
- Stability: It’s a stable flier.
- Primary Use: It’s good for accuracy.

3. The flat-top Innova Max is the Infinite Discs Slab
Forget the National Livestock and Meat Board …
Dave Dunipace came up with this slogan when he designed the Max:
“Beef. It’s what’s for dinner.”
The Max is not a complicated disc: It’s a mega-overstable distance driver. Though technically a “distance” driver, à la Tilt, don’t expect it to cover much ground for you – again, “beef.”
Unlike the Tilt, however, it will actually fly – it’s useful. Also, an 11-speed disc, its rim fits comfortably in nearly all hands. If you’re a newer player with developing form, this will be a utility disc. If you’ve got some experience, it’ll be your go-to for forehands and spike hyzers.
Today, the Max is OOP, but its legacy lives on through the Infinite Discs Slab.
The Slab is Innova’s original “flat-top” mold for the Max. If you’re one of those guys who’s paranoid about there being too much dome on your discs, rest assured, the Slab’s flat …
By definition, in fact – it’s a “slab.”
- Type: It’s a distance driver.
- Stability: It’s incredibly overstable.
- Primary Use: It’s good for spike hyzers.

Disc collectors: Going the Infinite Discs route might not be your cup of tea …
I get it: It’s cool to see the “Innova” name atop the flight plate of an older, OOP mold.
That said, if you’re wanting the benefit of throwing Innova’s older molds without having to take out a second mortgage on your home, I can’t recommend going with Infinite Discs enough.
It’s the SAME disc at a friendlier price point – don’t overthink this.

You forgot a mold that falls under this category.
Innova XD = Infinite Cohort
Great to know!
The above list was provided by Infinite Discs’ founder, so just ran with it …
Granted, he might’ve forgotten about that one, too.
(there’s lots of crossover, really – GREAT info, though!)
Found a Innova stamped “aztec”. But….its sold as Infinite “aztec”
That’s awesome …
How’s she fly?
Scepter is a Flat Top Firebird
Aztec is Starfire L
Czar is a Teerex
Alpaca is a P2
Chariot is a MD3
Dynasty is a CD2
Kon Tiki is a Mirage
Thanks, Nathan!
How sure are you about these, by chance?
Because our source for this was the founder of Infinite Discs …
Are there more out there than what’s mentioned in this post?
YES. YES. YES.
But at the time, legally, none of it could be confirmed – only what’s listed here 🙂
Hoping you’re right, though!
