Bet you didn’t see this one coming …
The top-three factors leading to global population decline:
- Factor No. 1 – Widespread migration.
- Factor No. 2 – A decrease in birth rate.
- Factor No. 3 – An increase in death rate.
Oh! And one more for good measure …
Disc golfers with towels clipped onto belt loops.
You don’t see much of this within the ranks of professional disc golf. Amongst the more talented slice of the amateur side, you don’t see it, either. In fact, the only gifted “serial-clipper” who comes to mind is Robbie C. He’s a mega-quirky dude, but he’s a dang-good disc golfer …
He clips.
The logic behind this move isn’t all that hard to wrap your head around – it’s convenience. For the same reason, your dad insisted upon holstering the company-issued Blackberry to his hip back in 2010. Should the office need him, à la Butch Cassidy, he was quick on the draw.
THIS is like THAT …
But for less sexy, moisture-wicking purposes.
In large part, my utter disdain for this is ungrounded …
I shouldn’t care what other people do – if it works, go for it.
But apart from giving off hardcore “virgin vibes,” the easy-access towel seems like it’d be more of a nuisance than an aid. Rock it like a loincloth, and it could interfere with your pull-through. Tack it up like a tail, and your follow-through might make contact – neither of those is great.
Also, it’s covered in dirt, grime and dog poo …
Keep your distance, por favor.
Remember: D.G. friends don’t let D.G. friends:
- Buy watermelon-themed backpacks.
- Go all-in on GStar or Blizzard polymers.
- Carry their full-blown bags while spectating.
Naturally …
Add this to the list.

I actually want to respond to your takedown of GStar. I agree with you to a point. Especially in mids, GStar can be waaaay to floppy, but in a higher speed driver where the majority of material is in the rim? Extra good. I find that GStar Destroyers achieve their intended flight numbers in GStar plastic much faster than Star or Champion, and because of the thicker rim, they maintain a firmness of feel. I will admit that they tend to be a little less torque resistant than Star or Champion, so for me they’re not great forehand discs, but someone with better form might find different.
Yeah, the second we published that article, people were BIG on the GStar Destroyer …
And while I’ve got plenty of experience with GStar plastic, I’ve NEVER tried out a GStar Destroyer.
It might be time to give that thing a whirl 🙂
BTW, the Pro Destroyer is also straight fire – gotta nab one of those, too!
