I’m an incessant disc-dryer.
Mud, dust, water, dog poo, essence of grass, etc.
Every shot requires a post-flight wipe-down of the disc.
Welcome to my world of obsessive-compulsive behavior.
Needless to say, I’m big on disc-drying towels. Because of it, I bring plenty of ‘em with me to the course in my bag. But any old towel will do the trick, right? After all, a towel’s a towel.
Pump the brakes there, Gibraltar …
Not so fast.
Check out the Discineer Retractable Towel.
I hate to pull a cringe-worthy buzzword from the world of startup entrepreneurship and say Discineer is “disrupting” the towel space, because it’s not like the company is sending a man to Mars or discovering a cure for cancer. But if you thought such a mind-numbingly simple product like a towel couldn’t kick things up a notch, I’ve got a dose of reality for you …
Think again.
On the surface, the Retractable Towel is a one-foot by one-foot towel – and that’s about it. Composed of 80% polyester and 20% polyamide, the microfiber towel dries discs like a champ. However, the towel’s main, not-so-secret selling point can be found in the very name it bears …
It’s retractable.
In the corner of the towel, you’ll find a clip with two feet of durable (seriously) cord inside of it. The idea is that you clip the towel to your bag, dry a frisbee at hand-height when needed, let go of it when done and continue on your merry way. If you’re tired of losing towels, this’ll help.
* Note: Yes, you can attach the towel to your belt, but don’t – it’s the dumbest look in disc golf.
It’s a simple, effective idea, the logic behind which ANY idiot can wrap his brain.
I love it.
BTW, just a couple more items worth mentioning:
- Item No. 1 – The small, compact size pairs nicely with a golf disc.
- Item No. 2 – Due to its dimensions, the towel won’t drag on the ground.
Nice work, Discineer.
Take an honest look at your disc golf gear …
The last thing you need is more plastic.
Buy one of these, instead.

Good idea. Discineer is cool. But polyester, “microfiber”, however branded, is literally trash. Plastic bottles sold right back to you Tyler Durden style. Doesn’t absorb, stinks, doesn’t wick. Sorry for being negative. It is a great idea. Just add cotton.
What do you think of Innova’s DewFly towels?
Similar concept, but I love those, as well.
Cotton’s good, too.
And don’t apologize for the negativity …
Never an issue!
(BTW, you should ALWAYS was these after a few rounds)
